Practice madd

Madd is lengthening a letter of madd (ا و ي) when the conditions are met. Natural madd (aṣlī) is about two ḥarakāt. Connected or separate madd, madd lāzim, and others stretch longer — your muqriʾ decides the school and the count. In ar-raḥmān you meet a madd shape that beginners often clip. In Ikhlāṣ, Allāh and aḥad teach you not to invent extra length where there is none, and not to starve length where the text marks it. Recite one word, wait for green, continue.
